its also so been pointed out to me that i made a mistake in building it.
the side with the carbon,dosent need the Titanium Dioxide.

    cool-remember i made a mistake by adding the TiO2 to both sides-so only put it on one,and try to make the layer as thin as possible-be careful cracking the screen open -cut finger potential is high!

    yeah those LCD panels are a bugger to get apart without breaking them. i’ll keep my eyes out for a good glass fridge door in the scrap yard, provided they don’t break it with the machine :/

    I’ll check my old work too to see if they have some old stock black and white powdered masterbatches, their pretty much pure carbon and TiO2

    yeah im after fridge doors from the shop type-they have a ITO coating to stop frosting and allow the customer to see inside-you would be better placed to find this in your scrapping,so keep your eyes peeled-thats a lot more surface area and alot easier to get apart than a LCD panel.

    yeah i spose the carbon and the TiO2 could be sprayed on-but the ITO is done with electron sputtering methods….

    I’ve got dozens of old laptops with TFT LCD’s in them, would they behave the same or would it have to be an older style LCD like on a photocopier panel?

    I guess for a bigger panel you could apply most coatings with a spray gun? like the TiO2 and carbon?

    plexigas is no good-you need a tin oxide layer on the glass-that is found in LCD panels and see thru fridge doors.

    good question-i dont know-i suppose it would be dependant on the dye breaking down-at which time it can be re-opened and fresh dye applied-fast food shop refrigerator doors would be a better source of ITO glass than pulling down an old LCD screen.
